No microphone, no hosting site? No Problem! With Gabcast you can use your landline or your cellphone as the mic. Simply sign up for a free account at gabcast.com and dial in to the number provided to record your audio podcast. It works great. You can even have your recordings posted to your blogspot or wordpress blog. Now that is cool, and it was easy to set up.
GarageBand - Recording Software for the Mac
GarageBand is a fun a powerful piece of software for creating podcasts on the Mac. It comes with the iLife software. With GarageBand you can record, mix, add sound effects, gingles, and music (all included or add your own).
In addition to podcasts, GaragerBand can be used to create your own music by connecting a keyboard, using the instruments, and rythm tracks and sound.
When you are done you can send the file to iWeb, another tool for creating webpages, or send the song to iTunes for playback. What is missing is sending the podcast to Podcast Producer. Come on Apple, make it happen.

Zoom H2 - Digital Audio Recorder and USB mic

Four mics are better than two, and the H2 Handy Recorder from Zoom has all 4 of them. Reviews praise the recorder released in the Fall of 2007. The price is right at $150 - $199 on the street. The H2 will record in both WAV and MP3 files onto Secure Digital (SD) memory cards, the same that are used in many of the newer models of digital cameras.
